Sasha pottered around the landing of the stairs, the very same staircase that overlooked the lobby.

She had been watching the ex-human-with-the-intimidating-aura since she had come downstairs. The girl had been here for a whole two days now and the only thing they had exchanged beside pleasantries was names. Her name was Kaze, it just so happened to be the Japanese word for wind, something close to her own heart, as the roots of her family were buried deep there, however Kaze, the-ex-human-with-the-creepy-aura was quite the opposite.

She did nothing but stare at you darkly from across the room with a look on her face that might suggest she was concocting mischievous ways to violently maim you, as one would do on a regular basis, because, clearly that's just what people do in everyday life.

'Hey there, Kaze, what are you doing today?'
'Oh, you know; the usual, just figuring out how to make an axe swing from the ceiling, hopefully it'll chop someone's head off!!'
And was only the beginning of her abnormalities.

One of the many striking things about this strange girl was her appearance. She looked to be 5"6, just a little taller than herself, which was a relatively normal height for someone that was between the ages of 16-18. (she hadn't found out how old she was yet, but she would.)She sported all red clothing and accessories which only seemed to highlight just how pale her skin was, the dress she wore hugged her small frame, it had lots of frills all over the place, and just seemed like something a porcelain doll might wear. Laced gloves covered her petite hands, which remained glued at her side at all times and to top off the look she wore matching flats and an anklet that would alert you to her presence, it could be heard right across the house.

Anyways, her skin was so pale that you could see the dark, spidery veins in her eyelids when she blinked and in her arms too. They were as petite and slender as she was. Still, that wasn't what made her stand out.

The first thing that had caught her eye upon meeting her was her hair, it-was-as-white-as-the-freshly-pressed-and-starched-tablecloths-Lewis-the-head-butler-was-carrying when he had walked past her a moment ago, she was so occupied with spying on the new resident in their house that she had responded to his greeting with an incoherent noise of what was probably a half-arsed attempt at a hi. Thing about the ex-human-girl-with-the-sulphurous-aura's hair wasn't the fact that it was white, it was the fact that it looked natural, there were no sign of roots as though one might see them if she had bleached it, no trace of chemicals, (She had a keen nose and would have noticed it) So, it had to be the natural pigment of her hair... The only conclusion as to what might have caused it was some kind of genetic defect. The worst thing about it was that her hair itself was so pretty! It was shoulder length and super straight, she had pulled some of it up into a black ribbon and left the rest of it down to cascade around her shoulders it shimmered beautifully in the light, in fact she was a pretty girl, kind of like an older gothic Matilda, however her attitude wasn't as pretty as her exterior was, so by default it kind of made her less pretty.

Her next attribute was by far the most captivating. Sasha had never seen eyes the colour of hers before. They were as-deep-and-as-red-as-the-blood-that-ran-through-her-own-veins and only ever seemed to glimmer when thinking of dark thoughts, (that Sasha had heard once or twice by accident) they reminded her of the coppery acidic salt flats that the flamingoes on Earth migrated to every year, which was coincidentally, where they got their famous pink colouring from. They were reflective, and seemed to tinge the surrounding light making everything else around her lose colour.
When speaking to her Sasha would divert her eyeline, looking at them for too long would induce a strangely pleasant hypnotic state, she didn't know whether the not-very-nice-ex-human was doing it intentionally, but she really didn't like it.
Still that was not the quaintest thing about her, there was always more.

Sasha knew she was staring but she was in partial cover. Peeking from around a wall so it wasn't too bad, that was until, you know, the other girl stopped whatever it was that she was doing and turned around to stare directly at her. Tt was the most awkward thing of her life! They both stood there in a staring contest cyan-on-crimson-in-equal-stubbornness-refusing-to-look-away. They must have been there for quite some time because her eyes were beginning to water. There was a moment of unsureness and a flicker from the other girl, when Sakuira's voice called out into the open space, Sasha sighed with relief when her brother came out of the kitchen making Kaze, the ex-human-with-the-maniacal-stare, break away first.

She blinked rapidly to compensate for however long she hadn't before continuing her observations. Now that was something else that was weird, the whole connection-with-her-older-sibling-thing... she had never heard of it before now and everyone she asked about it refused to tell her, all she knew was that is was a forbidden thing, a taboo. To turn a human into a vampire, he still hadn't told anybody his reasons behind doing so (especially not her which was a little hurtful) but until the pretty-but-not-so-pretty-white-haired-ex-human learned how to be one of them her handsome-brother-who-cared-too-much-for-everyone-else couldn't let her out into the world alone. Vampiric law or something... That, and it'd hurt his pride. So basically her older brother was (in a strange and roundabout way) this random girl's father for a few years as he had 'created' her or whatever.

Sasha had hoped that having another girl in the house would be fun and maybe she would be remotely-closer-to-her-age-than-anything-else because even though Tara, Coco and Summer hung about sometimes, they were 18 and they were part of Sakuira's friendship group, but unfortunately they were the only girls she knew. She did had Alvin, who was the same age as her, but he was the younger sibling of Andre, her brother's best friend, they would have looked like twins if there wasn't such a visible age gap, the both of them had mousy blonde hair that curled at the ends, both shared the same large hazel and green eyes, and   were first on her platonic boys-she-found-super-attractive list.
Sasha found herself turning away from the scene below her, unable to watch the awkwardness between the ex-human-who-probably-knew-she-had-been-standing-there-the-whole-time-and-probably-hates-her-even-more-for-staring, and her brother who seemed to be getting more and more stressed as their conversation unravelled. In the silence of the Miyu Manner she returned to her room and sat in her window seat.
As a child did you ever spy on somebody you didn't like just to see what they were up to? or maybe not someone you didn't like, but someone you were curious about? well this is one of those moments :D

This is the sixth instalment of "Sakuira: Through the Looking Glass", but rather than it revolving around Sakuira himself it's about his younger sister and how her world is affected by everything her older brother has done before her, what it's like being age 15, and the effects of living a sheltered life as a princess of an entirely different society,
